Before arriving in Cusco, you will have to learn a new term, the “Tourist Ticket”. This ticket has many variants and basically includes tickets to some of the main attractions in and around the city.
If you’re a history buff, the good news is that a partial ticket includes all of Cusco’s main museums (and, of course, the full ticket includes them, too).
But unfortunately, not all the attractive museums are included in this ticket, so you will have to pay for most of them separately.
For example, if you decide to visit the Chocolate Museum, the Textile Museum or the Coca Museum, make sure you have cash in your pocket.

Visiting a museum is a great plan when the weather isn’t good, but it’s also a great way to learn more about the history of Cusco and the events that have defined the lives of the local people to this day.
In addition to the impressive ruins and historical sites in the open air, the museums offer a more detailed and enriching look at Cusco’s rich culture and heritage. You will be able to appreciate artifacts, textiles, works of art and exhibits that reveal the traditions, crafts and history of the region.
So, when planning your visit to Cusco, be sure to take into account the Tourist Ticket and decide which museums and attractions you want to include in your tour to get a complete and enriching experience of this fascinating and historic city.
